Continuing Education
Pillar Palatal Implant™ SystemHTL is the sole continuing education provider for Restore Medical, the company responsible for the design of the Pillar Procedure. We host a two-day symposium lead by ENTs and Restore-certified trainers that teaches Dentists to insert the Pillar Implant.
The Pillar Procedure is an in-office procedure, involving the insertion of tiny, minimally invasive capsules into the soft palate. The tiny capsules stiffen the palate, and have been proven by a number of studies to be effective in stopping snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
- Patients experienced a significant decrease in snoring intensity. [Maurer et al., Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery. 2005.]
- Bed Partner satisfaction with the reduction in snoring after the Pillar Procedure has been documented at 80% or higher.[Maurer et al. Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery. 2005.]
- Approximately 80% of patients demonstrated a reduction in their AHI, and results were sustained at one year after the Pillar Procedure.[Goessler, UR et al. Acta Otolaryngol. 2007.]
